The Volkswagen Taos is a powerful, efficient and stylish crossover and it is quickly growing in popularity in the segment. It offers the perfect balance between a subcompact and a compact, delivering ample amounts of space for passengers and cargo in a package that is ideal for urban situations. It is also filled with standard safety and infotainment technologies.
Here, we compare the 2022 Volkswagen Taos with the 2022 Mazda CX-30.
The 2022 Volkswagen Taos saves money at the pump
The 2022 Volkswagen Taos uses a powerful and efficient 1.5 L turbocharged engine with an output of 158 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque. If you opt for the FWD Taos, you will get an 8-speed automatic transmission. But if you go for the Taos equipped with VW’s 4MOTION system, the engine will be paired with a 7-speed automatic unit.
The Taos’s powertrain makes more power and torque than the CX-30’s base engine, but it is also much more efficient. The Mazda CX-30 uses 8.9 L/100 km in the city and 7.1 L/100 km on the highway, while the Taos shows extraordinary ratings of 8.4 L/100 km in the city and 6.6 L/100 km on the highway.
Also, the Taos offers the advanced 4MOTION AWD system. This system is much more advanced than the Mazda i-Activ system and is better suited for Canada’s roads and climate.
The 2022 Volkswagen Taos gives you more space
While the Volkswagen Taos looks compact from outside, engineers have designed a cabin that maximizes space. Hence, the Taos offers a more spacious environment for all occupants when compared to the CX-30, but it can also accommodate more cargo. When it is full of passengers, the Taos has up to 790 litres of space behind the rear seats. Need more room? Fold the 2nd row and the Taos deploys up to 1,866 litres of volume.
With the Mazda CX-30, you only get 752 litres behind the 2nd row when it is full of passengers, and 1,280 litres when that row is folded.
The 2022 Volkswagen Taos delivers more base torque, provides better drivability and gives your family more room to travel. Come and see it today! You can also shop for your car online with us. Our representatives await your call and can answer all your questions.
