The Tiguan is the sportiest member of the sport compact SUV segment. Not only because it delivers exceptional torque through its turbocharged engine, but also because it has a unique German-engineered chassis that makes driving a crossover a lot more fun. But the Tiguan also has unique elements inside, like an available third row, which is perfect for larger families.
Here, we compare the 2022 Tiguan with the 2022 Nissan Rogue.
The 2022 Volkswagen Tiguan is all about drivability
Performance has always been one of the pillars of the Volkswagen brand. That’s why the Volkswagen Tiguan features a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder that outputs 184 horsepower and 221 lb-ft of torque. This is plenty of performance for all your needs. The Rogue offers a 2.5-litre four-cylinder that generates similar horsepower, but it maxes out at 181 lb-ft of torque. That’s 40 lb-ft less than the Tiguan, which is a serious disadvantage in terms of acceleration.
The Rogue offers another engine choice that delivers similar torque as the Tiguan, but it’s only available in select, high-priced trims.
The Tiguan also uses a better transmission, which is and advanced 8-speed automatic transmission that puts the power to the ground in the best way possible. The Rogue’s continuously variable transmission (CVT) cannot provide this level of excitement.
Finally, all Tiguan models come with Volkswagen’s 4MOTION AWD system, which uses only the best components to provide drivers with optimal traction in all weather conditions.
The Nissan Rogue offers AWD as an option only. Base model buyers will have to settle for FWD.
A better warranty and more space inside the 2022 Volkswagen Tiguan
Inside the Tiguan, you will find a series of advanced technologies, perfectly harmonized with the high-end textures and refined materials you can only find in a Volkswagen. Also, the Tiguan offers an optional third row, which is something you won’t find in the Rogue. This is great for larger families who don’t want to upgrade to a midsize SUV. And there’s more cargo volume behind the Tiguan’s second row, too!
Every new 2022 Tiguan features warranty coverage of 4-years / 80,000 km. That's an additional year / 20,000 km longer than the Rogue's basic warranty.
The 2022 Tiguan awaits your discovery. Come and see it today! You can shop for your car online with us. Our representatives are waiting for your call and can answer all your questions.
