The new 2023 VW Tiguan returns with its impressive versatility and remarkable blend of class-leading performance and refined and luxurious interior styling and features. The Tiguan is a unique compact SUV that stands out from all of the right reasons. Here we compare it to another popular SUV, the 2023 Mazda CX-5.
The 2023 Tiguan stands out with its performance
Volkswagen has long prioritised improving their vehicles' dynamics. To accomplish this, Volkswagen equipped the 2023 Tiguan with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 184 horsepower and 221 pound-feet of torque. These numbers far exceed the CX-5's standard engine's torque output. A more precise 8-speed transmission than the previous 6-speed unit in the Mazda CX-5 receives the power.
Each Tiguan comes standard with Volkswagen's state-of-the-art 4MOTION AWD system, which is superior to Mazda's i-Activ system and offers drivers more flexibility in adapting to the varying conditions that can be found across Canada.
The R-Line package, available on the 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan, adds a number of identifying features, including unique wheels, a redesigned steering wheel, and other embellishments both inside and out, allowing buyers to better express their personal sense of style.
The Volkswagen Tiguan 2023 expands on its already spacious predecessor in a number of ways.
The Tiguan offers maximum passenger and cargo space despite its "compact" label. Because of its clever layout, a third row of seats can be added to accommodate up to seven passengers, so even the largest families can get around with ease without springing for a full-size SUV. The Mazda CX-5 is restricted to carrying no more than five people because it lacks such a feature.
It's no secret that the Volkswagen Tiguan has plenty of room inside. The Tiguan's normal cargo capacity is 1,065 litres, which is more than the segment average. When the rear seats are folded down, the Tiguan's cargo capacity increases to 2,081 litres. With eight passengers, the Mazda CX-5 has a maximum cargo capacity of 875 litres, expanding to 1,687 litres when the rear seats are folded down.
In comparison to the Mazda CX-5, the Volkswagen Tiguan excels in every category. Discover why the Tiguan is so popular by giving us a call today!
