The 2022 Volkswagen Jetta has received significant improvements for the new model year. What hasn't changed is the Jetta's DNA and personality. This will continue to be the most dynamic and most fun-to-drive compact sedan available in Canada, and also the most stylish and the most powerful right out of the gate. Designed and engineered in Germany, the 2022 Volkswagen Jetta just behaves differently on the road.
Let's take a look at some of the improvements made on the all new 2022 Volkswagen Jetta.
Perhaps the most significant improvement can be found under the hood. The new 2022 Volkswagen Jetta is powered by the new 1.5 L turbocharged, direct-injected turbocharged powertrain that was introduced on the Volkswagen Taos. This engine delivers 158 horsepower along with 184 pound-feet of torque. Thanks to its high compression ratio of 11.5 to 1, this engine provides exceptional power without compromising fuel economy. It can be paired to either a six-speed manual, or an eight-speed automatic.
The Jetta will therefore remain the most powerful sedan in its segment out of the gate while also being one of the most efficient.
Inside, buyers will find that every new Jetta comes with a fully digital instrument cluster. The base Trendline model gets an 8.8 inch screen while the Comfortline and Highline models get a 10 inch screen. The new Jetta also features improved Comfort Technologies including a heated steering wheel which is standard on every Jetta. Technologies such as front Collision warning and autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian monitoring are also standard on every trim.
The new Jetta also features a redesigned front and rear bumper, new wheel designs, and 7 exterior colours including new Kings Red Metallic, Oryx white metallic, and Rising blue metallic. The grille has also been redesigned.
The new 2022 Volkswagen Jetta arrives in dealerships later this year. Pricing will be announced at a later date.
